Book Friend: “Treelogy/Theology. In connection: us, God and the tree” by Elizabeth Green

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m., the appointment with Libro Amico, the series of meetings dedicated to culture and spirituality organized by the Adventist Institute, returns. This time, the focus of the event will be Elizabeth Green, a Baptist theologian from Grosseto, who will present her new book, “Treelogy/Theology. In connection: us, God and the tree” (Gabrielli Editore, 2024).

“Treelogy/Theology” addresses a fascinating and timely topic: the deep connection between spirituality, nature and human relationships. Through the metaphor of the tree, Green offers a reflection on how the relationship with God and neighbor is inevitably intertwined with care and respect for creation. The tree thus becomes a symbol of a broader connection, calling us to responsibility toward the earth and other living things.

Adding to the richness of the meeting will be the presence of Professor Hanz Gutierrez, lecturer and theologian, who will dialogue with the author, exploring the themes of the book and stimulating shared reflection with the audience.

The event promises to be a unique opportunity to reflect on the relationship between faith, sustainability and our role in the world. An opportunity to be inspired and rediscover the value of spiritual and natural connection in a time that calls us to be more aware and responsible.

The meeting will be held at the Adventist Institute conference room, but it will also be possible to stream it for those who cannot be present in person at the link: https://hopemedia.it/istituto-avventista/ and on our Facebook page.
