The Libro Amico series of meetings continues with a new event dedicated to the theme of ecological and political regeneration. On Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m., at the Conference Room of the Adventist Institute of Florence, there will be a presentation of the book “Ecological Connections. For a Politics of Regeneration: reading Haraway, Stengers and Latour” (Ombre Corte, 2022).
The event will feature the author, Andrea Ghelfi of the University of Florence, who will dialogue with Prof. Hanz Gutierrez, lecturer at the Adventist Faculty of Theology.
“Ecological Connections” is a work that addresses the concept of regeneration, exploring the thinking of philosophers and theorists such as Donna Haraway, Isabelle Stengers and Bruno Latour. The book questions how ecology and politics can intertwine to generate new perspectives on coexistence and sustainability.
The meeting will be held in-person at the Adventist Institute headquarters, located at 8 Ellen Gould White Street, Florence. For those who cannot be present in the hall, the event will be streamed live on the Adventist Institute’s Facebook page, providing an opportunity for a wider audience to follow the discussion and participate virtually.
The initiative is sponsored by CeCSUR (Cultural Center for Humanities and Religious Studies), in collaboration with the Adventist University Institute and the Adventist Faculty of Theology, with support from the Adventist 8×1000.
