Book Friend: “From God to Trump. Catholic Crisis and American Politics” by Massimo Faggioli

New appointment with Libro Amico, the series of meetings dedicated to the dialogue between books, current events and cultural reflection. On Thursday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. there will be a presentation of the volume From God to Trump. Catholic crisis and American politics. (Scholé, 2025).

The book, written by Massimo Faggioli, professor at Trinity College Dublin, offers an analysis of the relationship between Catholicism and politics in the United States, highlighting the tensions, transformations and dynamics that have marked the American religious and political landscape in recent years.

In dialogue with the author will be Davide Romano, lecturer at the Adventist Faculty of Theology, who will lead the interview and discussion on the topics addressed in the volume.

The event will be held in the Conference Room of the Adventist University Institute, 8 Ellen Gould White Street, Florence, and is open to all. It will also be possible to follow the event via live streaming on the Institute’s Facebook page: http://facebook.com/IstitutoAvventista

The meeting is sponsored by the CeCSUR – Cultural Center for Humanities and Religious Sciences, theAdventist University Institute and the Adventist Faculty of Theology, as part of the Friendly Book Project, designed as a space for in-depth study and discussion open to the public.
