On Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m., there will be a new meeting of “Libro Amico,” the event dedicated to the presentation and discussion of books on issues of cultural and social relevance. The meeting will take place at the Conference Room of the Adventist Institute, 8 Ellen Gould White Street, Florence.
Protagonist of the meeting will be Silvia Baldassarre, professor at the University of Florence, who will present her book “Religious Freedom in the Workplace Between Antidiscriminatory Protection and Inclusion Strategies, “ published by Pellegrini in 2024. The book addresses a highly topical and relevant issue, analyzing how religious freedom can be protected in work contexts through inclusive regulations and practices. The issue is particularly crucial in an increasingly multicultural society, where the coexistence of different religious denominations within workplaces requires effective strategies to ensure that the rights of all workers are respected.
The author will dialogue with Tiziano Rimoldi, professor at the Adventist Faculty of Theology, who will explore the ethical and legal implications of the issue. It will be an opportunity to reflect on how law can be a tool to protect against discrimination related to religious beliefs, fostering a climate of inclusion and mutual respect.
For those who cannot be present in the hall, the event will be streamed live on the Adventist Institute’s Facebook page, providing an opportunity for a wider audience to follow the discussion and participate virtually.
The initiative is sponsored by CeCSUR (Cultural Center for Humanities and Religious Studies), in collaboration with the Adventist University Institute and the Adventist Faculty of Theology, with support from the Adventist 8×1000.
“Friendly Book” represents an important opportunity for students, scholars and citizens interested in the issues of religious freedom and social inclusion to exchange views. Participation is open to all, both in-person and online.
