THEOLOGY OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY

“The course addresses, in a systematic way, the biblical references relevant to the topic of marriage and family, and their historical and cultural context, for a theological interpretation of the biblical datum and its application in the current context.

The topics covered, ordered by following the life cycle of the couple (engagement, marriage, relationship, sexuality, children, death/divorce) are: humankind (man and woman) and gender roles (husband and wife), the purpose of marriage, covenant value, family models, sexuality and physical intimacy in marriage, parenting, cohabitation and premarital relationships, divorce and remarriage, and homosexuality.
