The Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church has always believed that one of its main mandates is to promote a Bible-based concept of education that enables “restore in man and woman the image of the Creator and lead them back to the perfection of when they were created. This must be the work of redemption. This is the goal of education, the great goal of life” (E.G. White, Principles of Christian Education, Ed. ADV, 2002, p. 10).
It is for this reason that each year it promotes the “The Moon and the Sun” competition, which puts up several scholarships to award thesis work from various academic levels:
Dissertation work must relate to topics in the area of spirituality, religion or the Adventist Church. Those who belong to the Italian Union Adventist Church, and who have earned their degrees from all national non-Adventist universities in the calendar year are eligible to apply.
