Bible reading, like Scripture, has marked Western culture and society. This text originates from a particular place and culture, Israel, more than 2,500 years ago. The text is still valid for the community of believers, but its original context is the basis for what is known as exegesis, the systematic and methodological study of a biblical text.
The course, “Bible, Exegesis and Archaeology,” seeks to present a study of the Bible from exegetical methodology by emphasizing the cultural and social issues that mark much of the Bible’s message. Archaeological works and discoveries, especially in recent decades that largely contradict the biblical text, are actually invaluable material for a better understanding of the Bible and its teachings.
The course is open to anyone interested in learning more about the topics covered.
The lectures will be conducted in distance mode on an online platform and will also be available in delayed mode. At the end of the course, a certificate of attendance will be issued and, upon request, the certification of 3 educational credits (CFUs) after a profit test.
