Book meeting “Taking Care” by Giada Lonati with Hanz Gutierrez and Mariella Orsi on Oct. 9
On Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m., an appointment of the “Book Friend, Book” series will be held at the Adventist Institute conference room. The main topic will be the book ” Caring. For the good of all: our own and others’ ” by Giada Lonati, a palliative care physician and social-health director of Vidas Milan. “Taking Care” is a work that invites reflection on the responsibility each of us has toward ourselves and others.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to explore these issues with high-profile guests: in addition to author Giada Lonati, Hanz Gutierrez, professor at the Adventist Faculty of Theology, and Mariella Orsi, sociologist and former vice-president of the Regional Bioethics Commission, will participate. During the meeting, therefore, they will discuss the deeper meaning of caring, not only from a medical point of view, but also as a fundamental principle for a healthy society.
Giada Lonati will bring her experience as a palliative care physician. She will illustrate how caring for people in the terminal phase of life goes beyond the medical aspect. Hanz Gutierrez will add the theological perspective, exploring the support that spirituality and faith can offer. Mariella Orsi will contribute her sociological and bioethical background, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in our communities.
The meeting on the book “Taking Care” is aimed at anyone who wishes to reflect on how to improve their ability to be there for others, especially in times of difficulty. This meeting will be a time of open and deep dialogue, where everyone can contribute their own reflections and questions.
