The Adventist Institute is headquartered in Florence at an old Riccardi villa surrounded by a large monumental park on the hills rising around the Careggi area, Villa Aurora.
The Institute houses a residential community of female students, students, volunteers and faculty.
The Adventist Institute conducts academic training in religious sciences, the study of theology and language disciplines for foreign students.
Educational offerings are marked by scientific rigor, ideal passion and innovative teaching that is attentive to the integral development of the person.
An increasingly interdisciplinary approach qualifies the institute’s educational offerings, in the belief that a solid cultural background is essential to be able to provide accurate, responsible and empathetic service to society and churches.
Academic training, however, is not divorced from an intense relational life on campus, marked by daily moments of spiritual reflection, intellectual animation, and play and recreational activities.
For several decades now, the Adventist Institute has been welcoming young people from all over the world who are interested in spending time studying or volunteering on our campus.
The linguistic, ethnic, cultural and not infrequently even religious diversity that these young people embody lends a prestigious connotation to our institution and the educational proposal it formulates, thus pursuing the goal of overcoming all forms of discrimination and the rejection of any pernicious prejudice that sabotages the fraternity of God’s creatures.
Degrees in theology and degrees in theology and biblical culture awarded by the Institute, through its Faculty of Theology, are recognized, in accordance with current regulations, to students holding a secondary school degree.
The Institute is also part of the worldwide Adventist educational work and undergoes periodic accreditation by the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA).
following an evaluation process including document review, site visits and interviews, the AAA awarded the institute accreditation as a “Level III institution” until Dec. 31, 2020. “Level III” accreditation includes the ability to offer “post-graduate courses and programs leading to master’s degrees or higher.”
The Adventist Institute for Biblical Culture “Villa Aurora” is an Adventist educational center inspired by the highest Christian values. His study and research activities, in auditus temporis, are aimed at thinking about LIFE, proclaiming FAITH in the eternal Gospel, nurturing HOPE in the coming Kingdom of God, learning and embodying LOVE, without reservation and without discrimination, in the service of a Church attentive to the needs of the weakest and a more just society.
