On Monday, Nov. 3, the Conference Room of the Adventist Institute of Florence will host a new meeting in the Libro Amico cycle, dedicated to the dialogue between culture, society and faith. The protagonist will be Pasquale Annicchino, author of The Interaction of Law and Religion in the Digital Transition (Giappichelli, 2025), an essay that investigates one of the most pressing issues of our time: how technological progress and digitization are redefining the relationships between institutions, religious beliefs and individual freedoms.
The author, a jurist and university lecturer, will address the implications of this “digital transition” not only as a technical change, but as a profound transformation of the categories by which we understand law and civil coexistence. In an increasingly interconnected world, where the algorithm and the network become sites of decision-making and confrontation, reflection on ethics, religious freedom and public responsibility seems more necessary than ever.
In dialogue with Annicchino will be Tiziano Rimoldi, professor at the Adventist Faculty of Theology, who will lead the interview and discussion with the audience.
The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. at the Adventist University Institute Conference Room (Via Ellen Gould White 8, Florence) and will be streamed live on the Institute’s Facebook page: facebook.com/Adventist Institute.
The event is sponsored by CeCSUR – Cultural Center for Humanities and Religious Studies, in collaboration with the Adventist Faculty of Theology andAdventist University Institute
