On Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m., there will be a new meeting of Libro Amico, the Adventist Institute’s cultural initiative that offers moments of insight and dialogue on major contemporary issues.
Protagonist of this meeting will be Emanuela Fornari, professor at the University of Roma Tre, who will present her book “The Democracy of the Void. The West between Populism and Neoliberalism.” (Castelvecchi, 2023). In dialogue with the author will be Hanz Gutierrez, lecturer at the Adventist Faculty of Theology.
In her essay, Fornari explores the political and cultural transformations of the contemporary West, analyzing the relationship between populism and neoliberalism. The author raises crucial questions about the fate of democracy and the challenges it faces in an era marked by instability and radical change.
The meeting will be an opportunity to reflect on these issues and engage with one of the most influential voices in the current philosophical and political debate.
The event will be held at the Adventist Institute, 8 Ellen Gould White Street, Florence. It will also be available for live streaming at http://hopemedia.it/istituto-avventista and on our Facebook page.
