Assisi & Perugia

Assisi and Perugia are in the Umbria region, called the cuore verde (green heart) of Italy for its centrality and forest. Assisi is the town of Saint Francis, founder of the Franciscan Order in 1208, and patron saint of Italy. Perugia is home to the Perugina chocolate factory, world-famous for its Baci chocolates.

Amalfi Coast Trip

The Amalfi Coast holds some of the most unique Mediterranean views, from the clustered towns built in the gaps of a tremendously dramatic coastline with steep mountains, windy roads, vibrant waters, and terraced vineyards. We will also visit Naples, which is the third-largest city in Italy and it holds the most important port in the southern part of the country.

Sicily Trip

Our week long Sicilian tour comes as a special treat at the end of the academic year. The strategic location of this largest island of the Mediterranean played a key role in its intriguing history involving myriad different civilizations such as Phoenician, Greek, Roman and Arab.

Villa became a second home for me.

I’m honestly so glad I was able to experience and immerse myself in the Italian culture. Learning with Milena, Cooking class with Graziela, and fashion with Marcela, to name a few, were part of the great experience. Italy itself holds a huge part of my heart.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I am grateful every day for the experience.

The best part about my experience is that it exceeded all of my expectations. Through the lovely faculty at Villa Aurora, I was able to immerse myself in the culture, learn the language, and feel like I was a part of a community of the most loving people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I felt, in all my college years, that for the first time I was really able to learn about who I was while learning about a culture very different from my own. I am grateful every day for the experience and would recommend it to anyone interested in going.

I loved taking walks and getting lost in the beauty of everyday life.

When I arrived at Villa I didn’t really know what to expect and still, I was blown away by how welcoming everyone was. I grew to love the people I met, which definitely contributed to my love of Villa and Italy as a whole. I got to learn things like sewing and a new language. I lived around breathtaking artworks and went on so many trips around Italy as well as personal trips with friends to neighboring countries. Even without going too far, I could grab a quick bus ticket to a nearby city and experience a whole new view of Italy and see how diverse it really is. Even the space between Villa and the main city center had so much to see.

The best 9 months of my life.

My academic year spent at Villa Aurora College was by far the best 9 months of my life. I went into the experience with hardly any expectations besides my independent travel goals, but by the end of the year I was speaking and writing in Italian at the PLIDA B1 level and had completed my dual minors in Italian and Art. The administration made everything so easy, from registration to check-out. Villa Aurora College really cares about each of their students; the bonds you create there will last a lifetime.

Choosing Italy was the best choice!

Having spent a year in Spain doing ACA I was hesitant to try again at a different school but I’m so glad i chose to come to Villa Aurora! Choosing Italy was the best choice! I met amazing friends and teachers that I still stay in contact with and of course I had tons of amazing food and ice cream! You can hop on a train every weekend to a different Italian city and never be bored! I would study in Italy 100x over again.

A complete life changing experience.

My time at Villa was a complete life changing experience for me. Seeing the world through a different culture’s eyes really makes you understand the world a bit better. Life in Italy is absolutely wonderful! Every aspect of it is a unique experience that can only mostly be felt there! I invite everyone to take some time and live abroad but especially in Italy.
