Book Friend: “With the Eyes of the Greeks” by Mauro Bonazzi

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m., the Adventist Institute of Florence will host a new event in the Libro Amico series, dedicated to exploring the world of books and contemporary thought. The guest speaker will be Mauro Bonazzi, professor at the University of Bologna and author of the volume “With the Eyes of the Greeks,” published by Carocci editore in 2024.

The book offers a journey into ancient Greek thought, interrogating myths, ideas and categories that still shape the way we understand reality today. Through the lens of the Greeks, Bonazzi invites us to discover a different way of looking at the world, one capable of illuminating the present with the depth of the classical tradition.

In dialogue with the author will be Hanz Gutierrez, professor at the Adventist Faculty of Theology, who will conduct the interview and guide the audience to discover the main themes of the work.

The event will be held at the Adventist Institute’s Conference Room, 8 Ellen Gould White Street, Florence, and is open to all interested parties. For those who cannot attend in person, the meeting will be live streamed on the Institute’s Facebook page:
