The“Gospel of God,” which the apostle Paul, not without boldness, also dares to call “my Gospel,” is the heart and central theme of the letter to the Romans.
Deep meditation on this letter, as an authentic spiritual dynamis (“power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes,” Rom. 1:16), not only changed the meaning and lives of so many people, but also gave rise in the history of Christianity to the Protestant Reformation. It is here, in fact, that Luther recognized the “gateway to heaven.”
What, then, is the essence and articulation of its disruptive historical-theological message? What did it mean to its first recipients and what can it still say today about the “hieroglyphic” that is contemporary human existence?
Give yourself this gift: it’s a great classic–you can never go wrong!
